As everyone knows this summer has been poop and we’ve barely had a weeks worth of sunshine but that doesn’t mean we can’t still brighten up our gardens.
Our garden is pretty small so flowers are at the minimum as we tend to use the raised flower beds for the vegetables but we still like a few flowers but these tend to be in baskets or pots.
This summer for the first time we’ve had hanging items in the garden and made use of the walls and fence posts.
One of my favourite pieces is this Petunia planted in a quirky pear shaped basket that Aly picked out as it went with our pear tree at the bottom of the garden.
And at £22 I don’t think its too expensive as you can reuse it year after year.
Our other little addition to the garden this year is a fun metal bucket we have that is full with 4 different plants in it including a pretty pink rose. Again this is another item that will last for years and just adds a little colour in our vegetable filled garden.
At £34 I still think its good value as long as you look after it.
I much prefer these items to plain old flower pots that don’t have any character.
