Saturday is my day, the only day in the week where the girls are solely mine so I like to either take them out or do something fun.
This past Saturday the weather was proper poop so it was a case of staying inside which can often be stressful. Luckily they are reaching the age where they can play together without much hassle or fighting. Aly is 5 and Mia is 2 but when playing together they normally bring out the best in each other which is very very handy.
Every now and then they’ll head upstairs to Aly’s bedroom (she has a bed with a tent underneath) and they’ll pretend play schools with the soft teddies or they’ll spend hours drawing and colouring.
This Saturday we managed to do something much better. We managed to decorate, furnish the house, change the carpets and even changed Mia’s hair. I know how did I manage all of this with two girls in tow? It’s simple really I was silly enough to allow them to create masterpieces using glitter, not just one pot of glitter it was about 8 different glitter shaker pots.
Now if anyone comes into the living room, kitchen, dining room they are met with a sparkly floor. Why not have a sit on our sparkly designer sofa? If you enter the room and the light shines in the right position it looks like we’re having a party.
Why haven’t we got rid of it? Trust me we’ve tried hooving, sweeping but no luck so far. I am worried that aeroplanes will think it’s some sort of new runway.
What have I learnt from this? If they want to go out when it’s raining…let them!
