Feeding The Birds #CountryKids

Berry Bird Feeder

This weekend for our outside fun we decided to make something for the birds in our garden.

I’d seen on Pinterest and Coombe Mill’s blog about creating a fruit chain for the birds so that’s what we decided on making.

We’d decided on a fruit mix of raspberries, blueberries and blackberries.

Berry Fruit Mix

As Laura makes pieces of jewellery we used some of her stronger thread and this was very easy to thread the fruit on to it but equally thin enough that we could tie it around parts of the tree to keep it in place.

Aly had great fun threading the fruit on and creating fruit patterns. Mia however found throwing the fruit and squishing it.

All we need now is some visitors to eat our feast.

Thanks for stopping by & reading my post! You’ve reminded me that we really need to do something for our birds here (I keep forgetting!) What a great outdooor activity to do though – with some very grateful birds no doubt chirping their approval too!

What a great idea! We made bird feeders out of plastic bottles the other week, and know my daughter would love to have a go at this :)

What lucky birds! Your fruit chain looks delicious and with more snow on the way I’m sure the birds will really appreciate them.

I love these fruit chains, however I also love all your fruit there so the birds might have gone hungry with me in charge of that one! Thank you for linking up. Our bird table is still going strong with more gooey seed balls, amazing the different birds it is starting to attract too, I hope yours fruit string is the same.

What a lovely treat for your birds. My birds only get seeds, peanuts and raisins. Oh yes and fatballs and fat blocks. Bet the girls had fun making them!
